01
Canopy connects researchers, professionals, and emerging leaders across Canada to tackle health challenges from zoonotic diseases.
Launched in 2024, Canopy supports a growing community of mentors and emerging leaders working towards a healthier future.
02
The goal of Canopy is to develop highly skilled researchers and professionals in various disciplines, shaping an emerging community of practice and a new generation of OneHealth advocates across Canada.
These individuals will collaborate and innovate to accelerate the implementation of One Health in Canada to better prevent and respond to current and future threats caused by emerging zoonotic pathogens.
03
One Health promotes well‐being across species and ecosystems, emphasizing a workforce that spans many disciplines and recognizes the value of technical and non‐technical skills. At Canopy, we emphasize 4 critical One Health areas: transdisciplinarity, systems thinking, collaboration and leadership, and equity and social justice.
04
Our goal is to support the next generation of One Health leaders equipping them with the tools needed to lead change, strengthen public and animal health systems, and respond to future zoonotic threats across Canada and beyond.
