    Jay Tiemann is a master's student in the laboratory of Arinjay Banerjee, where his research focuses on the characterization of interferon-stimulated genes (ISGs) in bats and the evaluation of their antiviral activity. His work aims to better understand the unique antiviral immune responses that enable bats to serve as reservoirs for numerous emerging viruses. Originally from California, Jay is passionate about advancing our understanding of host-virus interactions and viral immunity. Outside of the laboratory, he enjoys spending time outdoors and with his cats.
